IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cathy Lynn
Cole
October 1, 1960 – January 2, 2024
It is with broken hearts that we tell you of the loss of Cathy Lynn Cole of Baltimore, formerly of Annapolis and Kent Island, Maryland and New Jersey. She passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024 after a recent cancer diagnosis. We already miss her love of life, sense of humor, infectious smile, eye for beauty, and her care for people, nature, and animals. Loving mother, sister, companion, and award-winning artist, Cathy was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, grew up in Washington Township and graduated from Westwood High School. She studied graphic design at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts and went on to work as a graphic artist. She brought two beautiful, talented girls, Hayley and Juliet, into this world and she showed them what it is to love and taught them to appreciate the wonders of this world. Both are blessed to share Cathy's artistic talents. They enjoyed summer vacations in New Hampshire, camping, and boating on the Chesapeake. Cathy went on to pursue art and create beauty in the world, painting denim jackets, caning chairs, and refurbishing and selling antiques. Later she established a furniture refinishing business in which she was sought out to lovingly return to life, furniture that was meaningful to her customers, often important pieces of their family history. Many of those she worked for have become good friends. While always being a talented artist, Cathy finally started taking more time in the last few years to focus on her painting. She became deeply involved in PleinAir, competing and earning awards for her paintings in many shows. Over the past two years, she found true happiness alongside her companion, Neil. Together, they explored new adventures, purchased a camper, and painted in scenic locations across the Northeast. Cathy is survived by her loving daughters Hayley Wright and Juliet Schick; sons-in-law Ian Wright and Logan Brock; sisters Linda Cole and Sue Navarro; brother-in-law Chris Navarro; and nieces Nicole Navarro and Allison Schreiner (Bailey). She is also survived by her loving companion Neil Petti. She was predeceased by her parents, Irving Frederick Cole and Annie Cole and her four-legged loves: Daisy, Puff, Sweet Pea, and Missy. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later time.
In addition to Cathy's many amazing qualities, she had a deep passion for helping abandoned pets in need. In lieu of flowers, you can consider donating to Toby's Rescue (tobysrescue.com) or an animal rescue of your choice.
