On June 13, 2013, Cynthia C. Scott (nee Dwyer), a Sr. Vice President of Marketing at Tower Federal Credit Union, beloved wife of the late John J. Scott, devoted daughter of the late Honorable William A. Dwyer, Jr. and his wife Cynthia, dear sister of Charlene Foley and husband Jay, and Kevin Dwyer, Sr. and his wife Joan, aunt of J.P. and Michael Foley, Kevin, Colleen, Ryan and Sean Dwyer and Kellie Nutter McKinzie. In addition to grieving family members she leaves behind her wonderful friends in the Baltimore and Washington DC area and her beloved puppies, Shannon and Shamrock. As a resident of Baltimore, Md., Cyndy was a strong advocate for regional economic growth and sat on the board of directors of the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber and was a member of the Fort Meade Alliance, BWI Business Partnership, Tech Council of Maryland and the Greater Baltimore Tech Council. She was a Governing Member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and participated in several educational and community initiatives throughout the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan region. Cyndy had a passion for politics and was very active on Capitol Hill, attending the annual NAFCU Congressional Caucus and the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference gatherings. She was an outspoken voice for credit unions and met regularly with Maryland lawmakers to discuss the issues facing credit unions and consumers. In recognition of her grassroots activism and tireless support of credit unions, Cyndy was the 2012 recipient of the Paul Revere Award from the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). Cyndy received her award during NAFCU's 2012 Congressional Caucus in Washington, D.C. Prior to moving to Baltimore, Cyndy was a long-term resident of Philadelphia. She received her Bachelors Degree from Temple University and her MBA from LaSalle University and held positions with several local employers including Campbell Soup, Colonial Penn Insurance, and Harrah's Hotels and Casinos. She had a special love for all of her nieces and nephews and their children and was very active in their lives. Cyndy was also an avid golfer and loved to travel to some of the world's best golfing destinations including Ireland and Scotland. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Cynthia's life will be held at St. Casimir Church, 2800 O'Donnell Street, Baltimore, MD. 21224 on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 1 p.m. Further services will be private.
