Obituary

On September 27,2024, GEORGE JOHN KRAM,III, beloved son to George J. Kram, Jr. and Cheryl Kram (nee Keen),devoted godfather to Kaitlianna Rochelle McCall, loving brother to Julia Renee McCall, dear nephew to Aunt Teah and his "Big Brother" Chuck Keen. George is also survived by numerous other loving relatives and friends.

George graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School in 1988. In 1997, George graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in chemistry and biology. As a student, George worked diligently as a laboratory assistant, helping to maintain teaching laboratories throughout the Department of Chemistry. George's hard work was recognized through his receipt of a Student Employee of the Year Award at the university and at the state levels. George was also a finalist at the national level for a university student employee award.

After earning his bachelor's degree, George began a full-time laboratory manager position in the Department of Chemistry at Towson University. During his over 25 years of service at Towson, George supported students and faculty in a variety of chemistry laboratory courses. George supervised many student laboratory assistants and periodically taught laboratory courses as an adjunct instructor.

George leveraged his expertise to keep analytical instruments running well and assisted faculty members and students with their research projects. In recognition of George's outstanding contributions to Towson University, George was recognized as a finalist for a 2019 University System of Maryland Board of Regents Staff Award for Effectiveness and Efficiency in Academic or Administrative Transformation.

Helping students succeed was at the heart of George's work. In addition to providing technical support in chemistry labs, George also served for 15 years as mentor of the Towson University Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society club. Under George's mentorship, this club received national recognition from the American Chemical Society.

Funeral Services and Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to George's heart and soul, his beloved god-daughter, Kaitlianna R. McCall's medical expenses C/O Cheryl Kram, 634 Fagley Street,Baltimore, MD  21224.
