It is with a heavy heart to announce, that on April 21, 2018, "Hedy" JoAnn Hennigan, age 67, has peacefully moved on to be with our Lord. Diagnosed with Myeloma almost a year ago, "Hedy" battled this cancer with bravery and a smile on her face always, up until her final days, surrounded by family at Gilchrist Center in Towson, MD.
Hedy was born on August 27, 1950 in Baltimore, MD, Canton, to be exact, attended Sacred Heart of Jesus and Patterson High School. Living her entire life in Baltimore, she was a self-proclaimed "city-girl" that enjoyed walking everywhere, especially down around Canton Square until her health declined.
In her early years, she enjoyed an active lifestyle as a young woman and mother, playing soccer, baseball, tennis, golf, roller-skating, fishing, crabbing, sun bathing in her favorite yellow, plastic, tri-fold lounge chair and vacationing with family and friends in Ocean Pines, MD. Her professional career as a "Mom" was exemplary; she never missed a day of work, never called out sick, nor was she ever late. Unbeknownst at the time, the title "Soccer Mom" was coined after Hedy, who never missed a game for either of her sons. Hedy was a die-hard Ravens and O's fan, who loved eating crabs, socializing, dancing, bingo, was an avid pool player; or maybe she just enjoyed being around those who made her happy, especially her grandkids...
Her "Irish", her stubbornness, her inability to stay silent, made her the woman she was. Hedy was a lady small in stature, but her feisty and humorous personality were grand. Hedy will be missed beyond belief. Our hearts are broken, but we are blessed and thankful for the times we were able to share together, we shall treasure every memory.
JoAnn Hennigan will forever be remembered by her son Edward M. Quick Jr., wife Tina and grandsons Eddie III and Ethan, of Willards, MD. Son, Christopher Lee Quick, wife, Terri and granddaughters Madison and Emma of Forest Hill, MD. Brother John Hennigan Sr., wife Mary Lou, of Baltimore, MD. Brother, Elmer "Skeets" Hennigan Jr., wife Emily of Lecanto, FL. Nephews: John Hennigan Jr. (Godson) of Baltimore, MD, Robert Quick, Jr. of Middle River, MD, Patrick Hennigan of Baltimore, MD, Paul Vece of Baltimore, MD. Nieces: Sandy Boehme of Millersville, MD, Dianna Vodarick of Bel Air, MD. Partner, Marty Czosnowski of Baltimore, MD. JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents Anna and Elmer Hennigan, Sr.
