Jessie Pauline Strozykowski (Wooten), 89, of Baltimore, passed away on Thursday, March 13,2014 at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Born in Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia, "Pauline" was the daughter of the late Jesse and Ellen (nee Binnie) Wooten. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Joseph John Strozykowski in 2001. Pauline was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by both sons, Joseph George and John Michael Strozykowski; and by three grandsons: Brett and wife Jenny Strozykowski, Benjamin and wife Myriah Strozykowski and Alex Strozykowski; and a granddaughter: Wendy Jones. She took great pride in her nine great-grandchildren: Brodie, Riley, Benjamin, Gabriel and Theodore Strozykowski, Ashley, Brooke, and Chelsey Jones and Dalilah Ridgeley. Pauline lived in the same home in Baltimore for her last 70 years. She was an actual "Rosie the Riveter" at Fairfield Shipyard in Curtis Bay, Baltimore for nearly all of WWII. After the birth of her two boys, she began a 25 year career in sales with Irvins Department Store in Baltimore from which she retired in 1977. Her hobbies included family genealogy, moonlighting as a barmaid and gambling at casinos. Friends will be received at LILLY & ZEILER INC. FUNERAL HOME, 1901 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore ,Maryland 21231 on Sunday, March 16,2014 from 2-6 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, March 17,2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
