Obituary

Kira Marie Miller sadly and unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the age of 32. We are all devastated by the sudden loss of our beloved middle child/sister, our most passionate and fiercest friend.

Kira was born in Columbia, MD, on May 15, 1993, graduated from Century High School in 2011, and then from Radford University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Business. She spent her final years working at HCM as a Contracts and Governance Specialist. She was so beloved at her workplace that she was fought over by several departments. In 2022, Kira bought her first home and spent years meticulously decorating her pride and joy.

Kira loved music (especially Taylor Swift) and was a voracious reader (always reading the ending first because she did not like surprises). She adored gifts. A small token of thoughtfulness filled her heart with love and joy. She watched every TV show known to man at 2x speed with a special fondness for reality shows (the more chaos, the happier she was).

She loved our many trips to Siesta Key to see family, as well as going to Disney World and Universal Studios for Harry Potter World (Her house was Ravenclaw). Although she wasn't fond of the wild rides, she enjoyed the atmosphere. When traveling, she always loved the destination but did not enjoy the journey. Recently, she was interested in F1 Racing (Max was her man) and ice hockey (also known as Heated Rivalry). Any restaurant was a bad restaurant if it didn’t have a good chicken Caesar salad. She also loved Chick-fil-A, ice cream, and (of course) chocolate!

Kira is survived by her parents, Mark Miller and Kathy (Summers) Miller, Baltimore, MD; her two siblings, Breana Miller, Manassas Park, Virginia, and Terra (Joshua) Miller, Baltimore, MD; her grandfather Eli Miller, Sarasota, FL; and a host of extended family and friends

A Drop-in Celebration of Memories will be held on May 16, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM at North Baltimore Mennonite Church (the day after her 33rd birthday). Kira-approved snacks will be provided.  Kira preferred to wear comfortable clothes, so the only dress code is to be comfortable.  A small group of Charm City Sings members will share a song at approximately 5:00PM.

Memorial donations may be made to The Foundation to Decrease World Suck https://fightworldsuck.org/, a nonprofit run by Hank and John Green that Kira supported for many years and which contributes to organizations like Partners In Health and Save the Children.  Please leave a note in the comment field "In Memory of Kira Miller".

Kira, you were bigger than the whole sky, and you will be in our hearts forevermore.

Rest in peace <3
