Martin (Marty) Koski,Sr.,77, of Eldersburg,MD passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26,2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Marty was born in Baltimore, MD on July 21,1938. He graduated from Calvert Hall College in Baltimore in 1956, served in the United States Navy from 1956-60, and continued on at the University of Baltimore. Marty was married to Virginia Mary (O'Neill) Koski on January 22,1961; just shy of 55 years. Marty retired from the United States Post Office after 34+ years of service. He enjoyed watching sports, classic movies, working outdoors and spending time with family. He was a parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Frederick and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Marty is suvived by his devoted wife, Virginia Mary O'Neill Koski, his seven children: Maureen Owens, Martin A. Koski, Jr., Michael Koski, Matthew Koski, Mark Koski, Monica Rowlands and Mary Tighe, loving in-laws: Tami Taylor, Janet Koski, Kathy Lee Koski, Patricia Koski, Deborah Koski, Michael Rowlands, Roger Tighe and Richard Wilkins, his 19 grandchildren and one great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews. Marty is preceded in death by his father, Martin Anthony Strozykowski, mother, Irene R. Strozykowski, brother, Stephen Leo Strozykowski, sister, Joan Mary Wilkins and grandson, Martin Anthony Koski,III. Family and friends may gather at the Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg,MD 21784 on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 915 Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784 on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment Private.
