Mary Felice
Sidlowski
August 14, 1931 – May 18, 2026
Mary Felice Sidlowski, nee McGillin, was born August 14, 1931 to James and Paula McGillin in the borough of Queens, New York City. As a young woman, she worked at the New York Foundling Hospital and was a rabid Brooklyn Dodger fan. She married James "Sid" Sidlowski in 1954 and had six wonderful children. Besides raising this large family, Mary managed to volunteer at organizations such as Bel Air Edison Improvement Association, Catholic Social Services, Birthright, the Inner Harbor Welcome Center, and logging 20,000 hours at the National Aquarium (both in the building feeding the animals at the indoor rain forest and planting grasses to preserve wetlands across the Delmarva area). These activities culminated in her winning the "Baltimore's Best" volunteer award. She was also fond of taking trips to National Parks across the United States.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her son William "Wes" Emmett, and her husband Sid. She is survived by her children James "Jes," Cathy, Paula, David, and Scott, their spouses, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held May 29 from 2:00-3:30 at Roland Park Place (830 West 40th Street, Baltimore, MD 21211)
