IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nicholas Veachel
Didomenico
December 24, 1985 – May 2, 2016
Nicholas Veachel DiDomenico, born one magical Christmas Eve in 1985, passed away May 2 at the Dundalk home he shared with his mother Pamela Davis. Nicholas is survived by his father Charles (Butch) DiDomenico of White Hall, Md., and many wonderful Aunts, Uncles, and cousins across the country, along with a cadre of friends, co-workers and acquaintances who will miss this old, quirky soul more than they can now quite fathom. Nicholas graduated from Our Lady of Hope School, Patapsco School for the Arts, and studied two years of Political Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; where he later assumed a position as Police Communications Dispatcher for the UMBC Police Department. Nicholas relished his job there, loved the brotherhood, enjoyed exercising his excellent reasoning abilities, computer tech skills and compassionate approach to people in crisis. Nick played an active role in politics: coordinating campaign logistics throughout best-friend Jordan Hadfield's run for a position in the Maryland State Senate and then later devoting his efforts to getting Todd Crandell successfully elected to the office Todd now holds of Councilmen to Baltimore County Council District 7. Nick was a loyal friend to those he cared about and respectful, to those sometimes not so deserving. He was that kind of a man; a kind man, a man of peace; a considerate, sensative, loving man. Nick was a super ecclectic guy, a man for all seasons; knowledgeable about any and all things; a gifted articulate writer; an amazing person to talk with. Nicholas was an homage to another century when men were gentleman of civility and self control and when kindness and restraint were revered as strengths not weakness. He played electric and acoustic guitar and found peace in listening to music and playing music with other musician friends, especially Tony, Ryan and Meg. He loved exploring historical sites like Gettysburg, Alexandria, Williamsburg, Washington DC and annual outings to the Renn Fest, Maryland State Fair and Ocean City, MD with his mom who treasured these annual outings with her beloved, bright and fun son. Nick enjoyed getting back to nature and exploring State Parks, hiking and restorative visits to Black Marsh State Park in Millers Island. The greatest compliment one could wish was given by Jordan about Nicholas, "He was THE kindest person I have ever met. Nick was one of the most intelligent people I knew. And he never failed to make me laugh." Father Greg will perform a funeral liturgy on Saturday, May 14 at Our Lady of Hope Church at 10:30 am. Family will greet friends one hour prior to share rememberances. Please bring a photo of Nicholas to clip to a Memory Tree. A Memorial page is provided here and we encourage friends and family to share stories, photos and memories of times shared with Nicholas whose passing has left a gaping hole in our hearts. Share so we might all heal faster and find peace together in remembering. In lieu of flowers we ask you to pass on Nick's loving peaceful spirit of kindness and civility to friends, family and that stranger you'll never get to know beyond a smile or opening of a door. This would give Nicholas' life greater meaning and Honor to a well-lived life of a Gentleman in the truest sense of the word.
