Obituary

Rosemary Bernadette Clarke passed away in Crofton, Maryland on June 19, 2019 after a long illness.

Rosemary Clarke was the oldest child of the late Rosalie (Weber) Clarke, and Paul Edward Clarke. The family grew with the addition of her brother Anthony, and their younger sister Constance. Rosemary grew up and lived all of her life in Northeast Baltimore. She graduated from the Catholic High School of Baltimore in 1956, and spent the majority of her working years with the phone company before retiring from Verizon in 1995. She enjoyed traveling, and made many happy trips to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and to Ocean City, Maryland with friends and family. She was a devoted Baltimore Colts fan during the many years the team was in Baltimore. Although the loss of the Colts broke her heart, she warmed up to the Ravens, and was fiercely proud of the franchise's Super Bowl victories in 2001 and 2012.

Rosemary loved animals of all kinds, and spent many years active in the Catonsville Kennel Club where her beloved Lhasa Apso dogs CG and Goldie received several awards. In later years, she adopted her beloved cat "Stretch" and gave him a loving home for many years until he passed away in 2017.

Rosemary joins her parents, brother Tony, sister Connie and brother in law Gerald Young in heaven. She is survived by her beloved niece and goddaughter Kathryn "Kate" Surine and her husband Bill and their dog Max, as well as her nephews Joseph Young and Paul DiGiacinto, and sister- in- law Roseanne Fiorucci-Clarke. She is also survived by her cousins, Frank and Janice Andrysiak, and their children, Alan (Beverley) Andrysiak, Karen (William) Ramey and Jean (Peter) Little and their children, as well as other cousins in the Clarke and Weber extended families.

Rosemary was spirited, down-to-earth, frank, stubborn and always loyal to her friends and family. She was a wonderful person to have on your side. One of her favorite sayings "Trust me!" defines the determination and faith that she wanted to share with all of the people she loved.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rosemary's honor to a local organization that supports the care and welfare of others. Suggestions include BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore (www.BARCS.org), as well as your local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
