Helen Kufel, 106, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2022, in Shoreline, WA.
She was born December 3rd 1915 in Baltimore, Maryland where she lived nearly all her life. She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and remained a life-long parishioner. She had a varied working career beginning with production at McCormick and Company, transitioning to clothing sales and purchasing at Goldblooms and Princess Shops, and then manufacturing at Westinghouse. After her retirement in 1981, she was an active volunteer with Our Daily Bread at the Catholic Basilica.
Helen will be remembered for her generosity and her strong Catholic faith. She was an avid traveler and a Mahjong enthusiast. Her greatest passion was her family, and she will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Helen was preceded in death by parents Jozef and Jadwiga Kufel (nee Bak), her sister Mary Andrews (nee Kufel), and her nephew Melvyn Andrews (Beverly). She is survived by her nephew, Leonard Andrews (Judy), her great nieces Catherine Telewicz (Ray) Theresa Andrews (Thomas Kondrat), Elizabeth Buchanan (Alex), Rebecca Andrews (Scott Olmsted), Emily Andrews (Jim St. Louis ) her great-nephew Matthew Andrzejewski (Mari), her godson David Weber (Milo Zelof), as well as, nine great-great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church at 10 am on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Interment to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Helen's name to Holy Rosary Church, 408 S. Chester Street, Baltimore,MD 21231.
