Rosemarie Crivello Obituary

Rosemarie Crivello was born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1928 to parents who had immigrated from Italy. Her father, Antonio Aucella, arrived in Revere, just outside Boston, from Naples at the age of 18 and started a construction business in which he was both contractor and architect. A few years later, he met Rosemarie‘s mother, Rose Carbone, at the local grocery store. They lived in Revere and raised eight children of whom, Rosemarie, born in 1928, was the youngest. The business thrived until the depression in 1928.
In 1949, Rosemarie was attending a wedding in Revere, where she met Joe Crivello, recently released from the navy, who was simply crashing the wedding; a year later they married. In 1952, their daughter, Donna, was born.
Donna later moved to Baltimore and opened Donna’s coffee bars and restaurants. Donna’s parents moved here in 1998. Rosemarie, who had always wanted her own small café, went to work with Donna in the Donna’s at the University of Maryland and at Cross Keys. Rosemarie, loving to be involved in cooking, continued to help Donna when she was appointed executive chef at Cosima, where she could often be found baking her signature pizzelle. Judie Golding, owner of Cosima, declared that Rosemarie was an MVP for an article on Cosima in Baltimore magazine. A few years after the death of her husband, Rosemarie moved in with Donna and her husband, Peter Adams. For the past six years, she has enjoyed playing poker with Peter, shopping, cooking, watching Gunsmoke, and going to the casino with Donna!

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Casimir Church on July 26,2025 at 11 a.m. to celebrate her beautiful life. Further services and interment will be held at a later date.
